How to Measure

Use a Metal Measuring Tape (Cloth Tapes May Stretch)

Inside Mount

shades are installed inside the window frame.

Width
  • Measure the exact width of the inside edges of the window frame from three different places: at the top, middle, and bottom to the nearest 1/8". Record the narrowest (smallest) measurement.
  • DO NOT take off any deductions. The factory will take off necessary deductions for a perfect fit.
  • Tip to tip width deduction = 1/4"
Height
  • Measure the exact height of the inside edges of the window frame from three different places; at the left, center, and right to the nearest 1/8".
Record the longest of the three measurements.

Outside Mount

shades are installed outside the window frame, covering an area bigger than the window size.

Width
  • Measure the exact height to be covered, including the top edge of molding to the bottom edge. It is recommended adding at least 2" on top and 2" to the bottom (4" total overlap) to provide the maximum light gap coverage and space for wall mount bracket installation.
